RTL, technology designed for users

RTL, the leading French radio, has been developing its digitisation process with NETIA for several years. Six servers are now in operation and facilitate full file sharing between production rooms, studios, the news desk and management.

RTL has lately introduced an automatic overnight broadcasting system. The broadcast is partly built from the NETIA Music All music scheduling program. Music All is works from a database of over four thousand titles. The Voice Over function is used to add voices to the playlists created. This function helps the presenter to enliven night-time broadcasts. The playlist commands have been specifically adjusted for the overnight broadcast system so that, in particular, scheduled and flash bulletins can be flexibly managed. One of the strategies of RTL is to adopt new technologies which are designed for people. Ergonomics, user-friendly and easy-to-use are keywords for the production and broadcast tools installed in the studios in the Rue Bayard.
